Huevo Limpia - Performing an Egg Cleanse

Coventry Creations Candle Pick- World Magic Sweetgrass

Wicked Good Oil Pick- Energetic Sage

In the vast realm of witchcraft, practitioners often seek methods to purify their energy and surroundings. One fascinating and time-honored technique is the egg cleanse. Rooted primarily in the Latinx and Brujeria traditions, the egg cleanse also has roots in Hoodoo and is gaining a following in various wicca and other witchcraft circles.

The egg cleanse is a ritual believed to absorb negative energy, remove spiritual blockages, a

nd restore balance to one's spiritual and physical well-being.

Eggs have long been symbolic in various cultures, representing fertility, rebirth, and new beginnings. In witchcraft, the egg is seen as a vessel capable of absorbing and trapping negative energies, making it an ideal tool for spiritual purification.

Materials Needed:

Begin by creating a sacred space for your ritual. Light the white candle, and if desired, burn sage or other cleansing herbs to purify the energy around you. I have the Wicked Good Energtic Sage Oil in a burner.

Focus on your intentions for the egg cleanse. Whether you seek to rid yourself of negative energy, break a spiritual blockage, or simply cleanse your aura, clearly state your intentions to the universe.

Take the uncooked egg and, holding it in your hands, concentrate on transferring your intentions into the egg. Feel the energy flowing from your hands into the egg, charging it with your purpose.

Roll the egg over your body, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. As you do this, visualize the egg absorbing any negative energy or blockages. Some practitioners prefer to move the egg in a specific pattern, such as clockwise to banish negativity.

Once you've completed the rolling, crack the egg into your cup or jar of salt water. Let it settle naturally, don’t jostle or move, and wait 5 to 10 minutes.

Examine the egg white and yolk, looking for any unusual shapes, colors, or patterns. These may offer insights into the nature of the negative energy you've release. There are many different interpretations and ways to read but here is a simplified view.

Strings: Yolk strings hang from the top of the surface of the water down. They can connect directly back to the yolk and egg whites or stop midway. They  represent things or subjects you are worried about.

Cloudiness: If there is cloudiness over the yolk. This is could be to physical symptoms if you have any. It can represent fatigue, headaches, and physical ailments. These all need your focus, and you can expect these symptoms to get better. But you may also need to see a doctor or other traditional treatments.

Spikes: These will spike up directly from the yolk. They can be short or tall and reach halfway up. Remember, these will not connect directly to the surface of the water, as those are strings. They represent gossip and blockages that need to be removed.

Cages: These are around the yolk on the side. They're big in size and usually oval shaped. These represent entrapment and feeling stuck or trapped by things and people. Look within and see who or what is holding you down.

Dispose of the egg remnants in a natural setting, I personally dump under a tree. Some people just throw it away or flush. If you throw it away do it outside and not in your home trash. As you do so, express gratitude to the universe for absorbing and transforming the negative energy.

The egg cleanse in witchcraft is a potent and symbolic ritual, serving as a powerful tool for spiritual purification. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or a curious newcomer, incorporating this ritual into your practice can bring about a renewed sense of balance and positive energy in your life. As with any magical practice, approach the egg cleanse with respect, intention, and an open heart, and watch as the transformative power of this age-old ritual unfolds.
